What is the prostate?

The prostate is a small gland inside the body that is located between the bladder and the base of the penis in men. The prostate surrounds the urethra, the tube that urine passes through as it exits the body. The prostate has two important functions related to sexual health. It produces prostatic fluid, which is a component of semen that helps nourish and protect sperm. The prostate also contracts during ejaculation to help propel semen forward.

What is benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)?

BPH stands for benign prostatic hyperplasia. BPH is a uniform, noncancerous enlargement of the prostate gland. It is a very common condition that occurs as men age and the prostate continues to grow. One of the problems with BPH is that it can cause troublesome urinary symptoms due to compression of the bladder or compression of the urethra. These symptoms, which are called lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), include:

  1. Urinary frequency
  2. Urinary hesitation
  3. Urinary retention
  4. Frequent nighttime urination
  5. A weak stream during urination

There are many treatments for BPH. These include medications such as finasteride, dutasteride, and tamsulosin, surgery, and certain other procedures that can be performed. Roman’s Prostate Health supplement isn’t intended to treat BPH and isn’t a substitute for prescription treatments prescribed by your healthcare provider.

Why did Roman choose the ingredients in Roman’s Prostate Health supplement?

Roman’s Prostate Health supplement is a mix of four individual ingredients, including selenium, Pygeum africanum, 𝛃-sitosterol, and lycopene. Roman chose these ingredients because each has individually been shown to have beneficial effects on urinary function in some studies. In some cases, the evidence is limited because studies have only been done in small human clinical trials. All four ingredients are generally well tolerated and selenium is important for overall health as well.

How does this supplement compare to other prostate health supplements I can buy?

There are many different supplements on the market that advertise that they support prostate health. While some individual ingredients may overlap between Roman’s Prostate Health supplement and other brands, not all formulations are exactly the same. All four ingredients and their dosages in Roman’s supplement were individually selected and specifically chosen.

Will Roman’s Prostate Health supplement improve my BPH?

Roman’s Prostate Health supplement is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If you do suffer from BPH or prostate cancer, this supplement is not a treatment for your condition. You should talk to your healthcare provider about the best next steps in treatment. You may require treatment with lifestyle modification, medication, surgery, or a combination of these. The supplement has not been tested in any clinical trials and there is no guarantee that taking the supplement will lead to an improvement in urinary issues.
